We are a new cinema that offers an experience like no other in New York. We have a street-level neighborhood cafe where you can enjoy cocktails or gourmet concessions anytime. In addition, we feature table-side food and beverage service inside our three theaters for each film.

We seat our theaters 30 minutes prior to each showtime and feature a preshow of local filmmakers with other film clips related to the feature you will be seeing. It also provides a chance for our guests to get settled in their seats and place food or drink orders with the theater servers. Seating is first come, first serve, so we recommend arriving about 45 minutes prior to each showtime. Guests can enjoy a drink at our lobby bar before we seat the theater. Please hold on to your tickets as the theater server will check for your ticket at your seat.

After your initial order is placed during our preshow, there is paper and pencil at each table to write down any further orders during the feature presentation. It’s a basic flag system, just write down whatever you need and post it up in front of you. A server will come by and pick up your order. Towards the end of the film your server will come by to see if you need anything else, drop off your tab and take care of it before the credits roll.

Nitehawk Cinema is centrally located in Williamsburg Brooklyn at 136 Metropolitan Avenue between Berry and Wythe Streets.

By East River Ferry:

Exit the N. 6th St/ North Williamsburg terminal and proceed south to Metropolitan Avenue.

By Subway:

Just one stop from Manhattan, it is a short walk from the J,M,Z,G and L trains.

By Car:

Off the Metropolitan Avenue exit of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway with ample street parking nearby.

Nitehawk has a 45 minute window between our Feature Presentations. Audiences arrive early to eat, drink and enjoy our pre-show entertainment. The show is a combination of shorts: serial pieces created by Nitehawk, videos by independent film makers and entertaining clips, that range from the history of cinema to the online present.

We encourage independent film makers to submit short films and animations for our review. 5 minutes or less.
